The A-plex Floor has pre-nested joists with insulation and is shipped to site with or without sheathing -depending on the site needs. The joists over a living area do not require insulation, so typically it is more productive that uninsulated floors are installed on-site piece by piece as normal.

Insulated rim board works to improve floor band heat losses and lower building costs.  Floor bands are a major source of building leakage and heat loss from thermal bridging. This loss means colder floors.  The laminated rim board has a structural lap on the exterior side for extra seal and fastening and the foam and silverboard keeps the joists from conducting heat out of the building and warming the floor system.  

Installing A-Plex rim boards eliminates the difficult job of insulating your crawl or basement later. A-Plex rim delivers R-17 and R-27 insulation and its done already.
    The staggered sheathing laminated to the rim board creates a perfect glue set to bond and seal the rim for leakage at the sill plate. It also adds another nailing place -much better than just toe nailing the rim in place. Now available, SilveRboard laminated to the inside face, for a total vapour seal.
